Geo-Environmental Assessment

There are many sites across the UK that have been contaminated by former or current uses, both within and remote from the site. The identification of ground and groundwater contamination and assessment of risks to the end-user and other receptors are key issues which can significantly affect development. Soil Consultants will use the results of the Phase 1 Desk Study to design a site-specific Phase 2 intrusive investigation which will target potential sources and allow an assessment of the level of contamination present. Our assessments are based on use of the Environment Agency’s 2020 ‘Land contamination: risk management’ framework together with recent regulatory published guidelines such as DEFRA Soil Guidance Values (SGV) and the LQM/CIEH Generic Assessment Criteria (GAC). We will advise on whether remedial measures are required and provide a modified Conceptual Site Model (CSM) which takes into account the results of the Phase 2 intrusive investigation
